Semi-private instruction is available as time allows. Fee is $40 an hour for up to 4 people.
Subjects offered: Oil, pastel, drawing, art basics or simply coaching in the medium of your choice.

BEGINNING OIL
August 6 through November 12, 2009
Thursday nights 6-9PM, 8 classes scheduled every other week.

Oil painting presented with a firm grounding in the basics of pigments, brushes, painting tools and surfaces. This class not only teaches you how to navigate this gorgeous medium without painting your way into a deep, dark hole, it also teaches a free, spontaneous approach to making a joyful painting.
Style is contemporary and alla prima (single session paintings), however closet realists will find all the information they need to go away and drive themselves completely crazy with detail.

PAINTING WITH A COACH
August 4 through November 10, 2009

Work in the 2-dimensional medium of your choice (and feel free to change your mind during the class), intermediate to advanced artists will take their work to the next level, explore a new direction, or solve annoying problems. Often a big difference can be made in the working life of a frustrated artist, when a little time is spent with a coach who respects your vision, but also offers  a second set of eyes and decades of experience. Problem solving in design, color, application of paint, materials and recipes, painting surfaces, drawing, balance and conceptual communication.
